Pastoral Shadows of Brookong

Green Street
Lockhart New South Wales 2656

Created using rusted iron, metal scraps, and natural materials, the trail brings to life rural scenes from the 1800s when the area west of Lockhart was a vast sheep station.

Built over several years by the local community with the skilled craftsmanship of farm art sculptor Stuart Spragg, the ever-growing display features settlers, stockmen, drovers, and the iconic 'Swaggy', alongside sheep, kangaroos, farm dogs, and brolgas. Each sculpture captures the spirit of pioneering life and offers visitors a unique glimpse into the region's pastoral heritage.

The walk is well worth your time, and a camera is essential to capture these stunning artworks. Parking is conveniently available adjacent to the Lockhart Motel. Don't forget to pick up a copy of the Pastoral Shadows of Brookong brochure from our Visitor Information Outlet to enhance your experience.
