Lockhart Water Tower Mural

Green Street
Lockhart New South Wales 2656

Set close to Lockhart's historic main street, the Water Tower Mural depicts a cascading waterfall surrounded by many of the unique native fauna and flora found in the local landscape. It has quickly become one of the most remarkable pieces of public art in the Riverina.

Created by talented Blue Mountains artists Scott Nagy and Janne Birkner (Krimsone), the artwork reflects the vital importance of water to the region. Covering more than 600 square metres, the mural was painted freehand using natural-hued spray cans to complement the Lockhart streetscape and blend harmoniously with the surrounding environment.

Visitors will find stunning native birds such as rosellas, willy wagtails, kookaburras, and magpies on the main tower, while soaring brolgas grace the skyline. A cheeky possum, shy echidna, and kangaroos resting under a shady tree complete the vibrant scene, all portrayed in their natural habitats.

The mural is easily accessible and located within a lovely park featuring modern public toilets. Several interesting shops, open most weekends, are just a short walk away, making it a perfect stop to explore and enjoy.
